Mission Statement

Glendale Association of REALTORS® is a trade organization which has existed since 1921 to service its membership by providing programs and services to enhance their ability to conduct business successfully with integrity and competency, without undue regulatory restraint, as well as to encourage the preservation of real property rights.

Association History

As is evident, dealing in real estate is one of Glendale’s oldest business activities.  Organization of the real estate industry was first recorded at a meeting on July 22, 1920, where it evolved from a conference being held for insurance professionals into an organization of real estate brokers.

The new organization met for its first official real estate meeting on September 10th.  At that meeting the constitution was adopted and the Glendale Realty Board was formed.  By January 1923, the Board had 70 members.  In 1930 the Board reorganized and changed the name to Glendale Real Estate Board Ltd.

The organization underwent additional name changes, in 1941 it was renamed Glendale Real Estate Board and in 1946 the Board formed a new unit and incorporated it as the Glendale Multiple Listing Association.  Then in 1951 still another name change to the Glendale Board of REALTORS®  Then in 1995 it was once again renamed to its present-day Glendale Association of REALTORS®, and in 2000 moved to its current location at 124 S. Isabel Street, and operates a Branch Office at 4673 York Blvd. in Eagle Rock.

Today the Association continues to serve its members located in Glendale, Eagle Rock, Los Angeles, Montrose, La Crescenta, La Canada, and the Foothill areas by providing products and services key to conducting their real estate business.  In addition, promoting ethical and fair business practices and equality of service to all the clients REALTORS® represent is a renewed focus for the Association.

Since the beginning in 1921 officers and members have served their profession and their communities in and around Glendale in many capacities, often receiving distinguished awards and recognition for their services on the Glendale City Council, the Chamber of Commerce, on Planning Commissions, School Boards, etc.
